Miami-Dade County saw a drop in the number of weekly new cases of COVID-19 last week.  Miami-Dade County has 12,545 new cases of COVID-19 last week.  That’s a significant drop from the 21,493 cases added the week prior.

New hospitalizations remained stable last week with 167 new hospitalizations in Miami-Dade County last week.  The hospitalization rate stands at 3% of cases.

Fatalities were also stable, albeit always sad, with 61 new fatalities in Miami-Dade County last week.  The COVID-19 fatality rate in Miami-Dade County is currently 1.4%.

COVID-19 CASES IN MIAMI SPRINGS

There were 187 new cases of the coronavirus within our zip code over the last 7 days.  That puts the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic at 3,327.   We estimate Miami Springs has had 1,830 total cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.  We estimate Miami Springs had 103 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 7 days.

COVID-19 CASES IN FLORIDA

There were over 63,000 new cases of COVID-19 statewide.  That’s down from the 85,000 cases the prior week, but still extremely high.

Fortunately, statewide fatalities saw a drop last week.  But we still lost 576 people to the Coronavirus last week.

Folks, please, wear your mask.  Practice social distancing.  Wash your hands.  And especially protect the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.
