The City of Miami Springs capped the millage rate (property tax rate) for fiscal year 2018 – 2019 at the current millage rate of 7.3575 during  a special council meeting held July 26th. 

That means there will be no tax hike for the upcoming election year.  Council still has a few budget meetings before finalizing the budget for the upcoming fiscal year.  During this time, the council can elect to leave the rate as is or even lower the rate, but they cannot increase the millage rate above the 7.3575 rate set at today’s meeting.

Currently, the City of Miami Springs millage rate is at 7.3575 making it one of the highest in Miami-Dade County.  The highest rates in the county are as follows:

  • Biscayne Park:  9.7000
  • El Portal:  8.3000
  • North Miami: 7.5000
  • Golden Beach:  7.4800
  • City of Miami:  7.4365
  • MIAMI SPRINGS:  7.3575
