A dangerous accident Sunday evening left two cars destroyed, but fortunately everyone was able to walk away from the accident.

Both Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Virginia Gardens Police were on hand to help.  According to a Virginia Gardens Police Officer on scene, the silver Honda Civic (shown below) was headed westbound along NW 36th Street when it collided with the dark 4 door hatchback that was apparently attempting to make a left hand turn from north bound Curtiss Parkway onto NW 36th Street.

Being on scene, it was difficult to tell how these cars ended up in the positions they were in.  Again, the good news is that there were no fatalities.  One of the occupants, an older woman, was seen with leaving with her head bandaged, but she was walking on her own.

No word yet on which driver was at fault, but again, we’re happy to report that it wasn’t a fatal accident. It appears the vehicle’s safety systems including airbags were able to keep the occupants safe.

DEADLY INTERSECTION

NW 36th Street and NW 57th Avenue (aka Curtiss Parkway) is the same intersection where two teens lost their lives in an accident in May of last year.  In last year’s incident, speed appears to have been involved in the fatal fiery wreck.
