Good Morning America was in Miami Springs this morning covering the pre-Thanksgiving FREE Drive Thru Food Distribution. The Food Distribution was free to any family who showed up on a 1st come 1st served basis. Unlike the $250 Milam’s Gift Cards that were distributed based on a family’s needs, this distribution was available to anyone.
Of course, many needy families are helped in this situation and we applaud everyone involved for helping families who are in need. But Good Morning America’s depiction that all these families were needy is an exaggeration.
While many people really do need the free food, we all know there are plenty of people who like to take advantage of a free meal. There were no restrictions in place. Again, we’re not being critical of the distribution. Rather, we’re a little critical of the exaggeration from Good Morning America.
