Dear Miami Springs neighbors. It’s time to say thank you to a very special lady. Miami Springs’ own Lissette “Liz” DeCristofaro. If the name doesn’t ring a bell, her smile and her business should. Liz is one of the co-owners of the Original Big Tomato in Miami Springs.
As you know, Big Tomato is one of Miami Springs’ favorite places to eat. With amazing gourmet pizzas, fresh paninis, and amazing soups, the Miami Springs community has grown to LOVE the delicious meals prepared by the Big Tomato.
We want to say thank you to Liz. Liz and her partner have put everything into the Miami Springs Big Tomato and the sister store, the Pinecrest Big Tomato. The amount of labor and love they’ve poured into their business is immeasurable. Unfortunately, the Miami Springs Big Tomato has closed.
No. It hasn’t closed due to COVID-19 or economic pressures. Rather Liz was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. As a result, it’s very important for Liz to remove as much stress from her life to focus on her health and recovery. Liz and her partner have decided to close the Miami Springs Big Tomato.
We’ve asked Liz if there was a Go Fund Me page or if there was any way the community could help right now. She has repeatedly told us they are not looking for any help right now. Miami Springs is a beautiful community that always rises to help those in need. So we ask that you put Liz in your prayers. Let’s give Liz all the love and support she needs right now.
