Miami-Dade’s rate of fatalities among those confirmed to have contracted the Coronavirus has been consistently lower than statewide rate.  However, since this crisis started, we’ve track the rate at below 1%.  This morning, those numbers reached 1.1% or 63 deaths in Miami-Dade County with the total number of cases in the County at 5,745.

The good news is that the statewide rate of new cases is definitely showing a flattening trend over the last week.  We need to keep washing our hands, social distancing, wearing masks, and staying at home to continue this positive trend.

The State of Florida is reporting 16,364 cases with 2,149 hospitalizations and 354 deaths.  The statewide fatality rate is double the county rate at 2.2%.

Zip code 33166 has 39 cases, but look at the red spots directly to our North in Hialeah and West in Doral.  Stay home.  Practice social distancing.  Wash your hands.  Wear a mask.
