What’s up with the “Santeros?” I’m all for freedom of religion, but it kind of ends when you’re dumping dead bodies in our community. It’s no secret that there have been dead chickens and dead ducks dumped by the railroad tracks. Sometimes it’s easy to miss and disregard as simple “road kill” which does happen from time to time.
However, when full size goats are being dumped in our neighborhood you have to stop and wonder “What the heck is going on?”
The sacrificing of animals is nothing new in various religions and especially not anything new in Santeria. But why are they dumping these animals by the railroad tracks? The video below does a great job explaining this from a Hialeah train track on East 10th Avenue.
The legend goes that all the bad vibes and evil spirits will leave you and go on the train. Hey, believe whatever you want, it’s a free country. But don’t dump your dead animals in Miami Springs.
