Florida State Senator, Manny Diaz Jr., presented the Village of Virginia Gardens with a check from the State of Florida for $290,000 to fund the NW 62nd Avenue Stormwater drainage project.

The Village of Virginia Gardens expressed their gratitude with the following statement:

“The Village of Virginia Gardens would like to thank State Senator Manny Diaz Jr., State Rep Bryan Ávila and State Rep Rizo for presenting the Village with the State appropriations check for the NW 62nd Avenue Stormwater drainage project. The State Funded Appropriations for the Village of Virginia Gardens total $290,000! The Village also thanks Jose Fuentes, Max Losner and Alex Alamo of Becker & Poliakoff PA.”

As you may remember, we had a bad flood in Virginia Gardens and Miami Springs on May 26, 2020.  One of the areas that was flooded was NW 62nd Avenue in Virginia Gardens.  If you’re not familiar, NW 62nd Avenue is the southwestern entrance into Virginia Gardens from NW 36th Street.
