New cases of the Coronavirus continue to climb in Miami-Dade County.  Last week saw 6,755 new cases.  That’s the biggest increase since August.

Fortunately, new hospitalizations has remained relatively low in Miami-Dade County with just 87 new cases over the last 7 days.  That’s roughly 12 new hospitalizations per day.  That’s a pace that will not overwhelm our hospital systems.

In other good news, we’ve only had 35 new COVID-19 fatalities over the last week.  That’s the lowest number of new COVID-19 fatalities we have reported.  This is also a good sign that we are protecting the most vulnerable.

33166 CASES

Our zip code now has over 2,000 cases of the Coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.  In Miami Springs, we estimate we’ve had 1,140 cases of the Coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.  Over the last week, there were 87 new cases within our zip code.

FLORIDA CASES

Florida had 34,530 new cases of the Coronavirus in the last week.  However, hospitalizations were down with fatalities relatively flat.

We continue to repeat the message.  Practice social distancing.  Protect the most vulnerable, especially the elderly.  Wear a mask. Wash your hands.

We will get through this.
