We are happy to see these arrests as the Police Department addresses the criminal element associated with the airport area hotels. Unfortunately, the Police Department’s resources continue to be used to address crime at airport area hotel. The City of Miami Springs needs the State of Florida to grant local municipalities (like Miami Springs) the authority to levy bed taxes to help pay for Police Services. This will allow the Police Department additional capacity to respond to airport hotel incidents while still being able to staff to handle the core of Miami Springs.
Miami Springs residents voted for the politicians into office who approved building the hotels. Elections have consequences. Residents have no one to blame but themselves.
