The second annual Miami Springs Run with a Cop event was a huge success. Scores of runners of all ages were able to enjoy a beautiful morning run this past Saturday, October 4, 2025.

The participants gathered in the parking lot of the Miami Springs Recreation Center just as a beautiful sunrise appeared to greet the crowd.

Many of the runners were dressed in pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month including Councilman Joseph Dion, Councilman Fabian Perez-Crespo, Miami Springs Police Chief Matthew Castillo, Miami Springs Mayor Walter Fajet, and Miami Springs Councilman Orland Llamas.

As you can see the event drew a diverse crowd of runners and walkers with the option of two courses:Â a 1.5 Mile course and a 3.11 Mile course.

The course took runners throughout the beautiful tree lined streets of Miami Springs’ bird section.

The Run with a Cop event is just another in a long series of family friendly community events held by the city and/or our local civic organizations. It’s just another ingredient in what makes Miami Springs the best family friendly community in all of South Florida.

We want to thank Miami Springs Parks and Recreation and the Miami Springs Police Department along with all the volunteers that made this event possible.

We also want to thank all the participants for coming out and sharing in a beautiful event.

After the run, the festivities continued at Prince Field with a variety of fun activities, treats, and vendors.
