The National Hurricane Center is expecting a Hurricane to hit Florida on Wednesday. And yes, South Florida is within the cone of concern.
Currently, the storm is a Tropical Depression. It’s expected to become a Tropical Storm on Sunday. On Monday, it’s expected to strengthen into a Hurricane as it moves east along the Gulf of Mexico.
Wednesday is the day the National Hurricane Center expects the storm to turn into a hurricane. Where the storm will hit will be based on a cold front that’s pushing down into the southeast of the United States and on the speed of the hurricane itself.
Once it turns into a Tropical Storm, it will be named Milton.
