Alleged Porch Pirate Arrested

The City of Miami Springs Police Department announced the arrest of an alleged Porch Pirate that was caught on camera.

According to Miami Springs Police, John Restrepo “made the unfortunate decision to target an apartment building on South Royal Poinciana, where he stole packages belonging to our residents.”  Miami Springs Police were able to quickly locate and arrest Restrepo who now faces charges for a third-degree felony.

Miami-Dade Corrections show that Restrepo was charged with:

• Grand Theft 3rd Degree
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Use

He also appeared to have several additional charges based on prior warrant cases including:

• Burglary of an occupied dwelling
• Organized scheme to defraud $50k or more
• ID Fraud
• Trespass and Larceny
