We recently heard of the heart breaking story of the Parodi family. Their son, Anthony Parodi has been suffering from a heart and liver condition and was recently able to have transplant surgery. Unfortunately, his condition has complicated following the surgery and he remains in critical condition. Read the full story by Carol Martinez below:
My family and I have been blessed to know the Parodi family for 15-years. Our sons have grown up together and continue to be classmates at Belen Jesuit. We are also parishioners at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and are grateful to the community for all their prayers and loving support. Anthony is a fun, loving, smart, and creative young man. He has faced many challenges in his young life and has so much to offer this world.
As many of you may already know, Anthony was born with a heart condition. Anthony was on a waiting list for a heart and liver transplant and was in the hospital for more than 6 months fighting to be stable until his donor could be found. On July 25, 2020, God answered our prayers and Anthony received the good news that there had been a donor found and his transplant took place. During the long procedure, he suffered major complications and has remained in critical condition.
His parents, Sonia and Tony remain at his bedside. His sister Noella and brother JJ have not able to spend time with him as much as they wish. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a strong toll on employment for the family and they are in need of financial assistance so that they can spend quality time with their son that needs them so much. Additionally, the medical expenses are mounting and the long term need is still unknown.
