1928 photo of Glenn Curtiss’s Hotel Country Club on The Parkway(now Curtiss Parkway) in Country Club Estates(now Miami Springs). Construction began by New York developers on the Pueblo Hotel in 1927. When the developers backed out Glenn Curtiss took over and completed the construction. Curtiss named it Hotel Country Club. The formal opening was held January 8, 1928. In 1930 it was sold to wellness expert Dr. John Harvey Kellogg who renamed it Battle Creek Sanatorium. In 1942 Dr. Kellogg leased the sanatorium to the United States Army Air Forces Air Transport Command to be used as a recuperation facility for military personnel. In later years it became known as the Palm Spa, then Fair Havens Nursing Home, and now Miami Springs Nursing & Rehab Center.
