According to official municipal election qualifying records published by the Village of Virginia Gardens, residents will head to the polls on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to vote in the General Municipal Election.
Every two years, by Charter, Virginia Gardens voters are called to fill the offices of Mayor and three (3) seats on the Village Council. This year’s election features a competitive mayoral race, while the three open Village Council seats have drawn exactly three qualified candidates.

The Mayoral Race: Incumbent Challenged
In the race for Mayor, long-time incumbent Fred Spencer Deno IV is seeking re-election. Mayor Deno, who has served as the Village’s leader since first being elected in 2003 as one of the youngest mayors in municipal history, faces a challenge from resident Tim Boylan.

The mayoral contest represents the only contested seat on this year’s ballot, giving Virginia Gardens voters a clear choice for the chief executive seat of the government.
Uncontested Village Council Races
For the Virginia Gardens Village Council, three seats are open for election. At the close of the official candidate qualification period on August 21, 2026, exactly three candidates successfully qualified to run for the three open seats:
- Jorge Arce
- Elizabeth K. Taylor-Martinez
- Michael Tur
Because the number of qualified candidates perfectly matches the number of open seats, these three candidates are running uncontested and will automatically assume their roles on the Village Council, bypassing a competitive vote on the November ballot.
