Aerospace education is making a triumphant return at Miami Springs Senior High after a significant hiatus. Miami Springs, Florida, has a proud aviation history, with legends like the Pan Am Museum and Eastern Air once calling it home.

Today, our city stands as the aviation training capital of the world, boasting over 70 full flight simulators on NW 36 St. owned by industry giants like Boeing, Airbus, Pan Am Academy, Paramount Aviation, and Atlas Air Worldwide. These facilities train thousands of pilots annually, making it a perfect fit to reopen our high school Aerospace Academy and contribute to the talent pipeline.

In collaboration with the Gaetz Aerospace Institute at Embry-Riddle and Baker Aviation, we are committed to bridging the gap in Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) by providing access to aerospace careers at the high school level, particularly for underserved communities. Baker Aviation will remain a flight mechanic training powerhouse, while we strive to reclaim our status as the leading high school aerospace training institution in Miami-Dade County. This achievement would not be possible without the unwavering dedication of our team, the support of MDCPS leadership, and the generosity of World Atlantic, which donated real airplane seats, and Alexander Ceballos, who contributed airplane pictures to adorn our classroom. Together, we’re turning dreams into reality at the Miami Springs Senior High Aerospace Academy!
