The Christmas at the Gazebo event brings together what we love most about Miami Springs:Â It’s a great place to raise a family.
The event is organized by the Miami Springs Parks and Recreation Department and is part of several events hosted by the city and civic organizations during this holiday period.
The event itself started with a short parade along Westward Drive from City Hall to the Circle. The parade featured cheerleaders in Santa hats, the marching band, In Miami Springs style, it featured a marching band, Miami Springs Police, Miami Springs council members and the Mayor, and of course, the grand marshal himself, Santa Claus. (Watch the video for yourself below.)

At the Circle there were many fun items for kids to enjoy. One of the favorite traditions is the ice sled. Kids get to climb a small hill made of hay and then experience the trill of sledding down on real ice. (For you northerners that just moved to Miami Springs, we don’t get snow in Miami. We don’t get ice in Miami. And we have no hills. The experience of sledding is foreign to most children. So trust me, this is a big thrill for local kids.)
In addition to the ice sleds, there were kids rides, games, bumper cars, and bounce houses.
Families also lined up to get their turn to take a picture with Santa Claus and his helpers.
And there were plenty of goodies including popcorn and cotton candy for kids to enjoy.

Again, the Christmas at the Gazebo event is but another shining example of the family friendly events that makes Miami Springs one of the finest neighborhoods to raise a family in South Florida.
