The Miami Springs Senior High Football Team fell last week to the La Salle Lions. According to the box score from MaxPreps, the Hawks fell behind in the first quarter as the Lions put on 14 points early.
In the second quarter, the Hawks were able to score 12 points, but La Salle kept their foot on the gas and added an additional 14 points. By halftime the score was 28-12 in favor of La Salle.
In the second half, the Hawks were held scoreless while the Lions added another 21 points. The final score was La Salle 49 – Miami Springs 12.
The Hawks are now 2-5 for the year. I know it doesn’t look great, but they’ve won twice as many games as the Dolphins.
The football team is participating in a tournament this Friday before facing the historic archrival, Hialeah High T-Breds on Thursday, October 23rd for the Mayor’s cup.
