Miami Springs is home to many small mom and pop businesses. It’s the core of our business district. This includes many of our favorite restaurants, flower shops, beauty services, gyms, etc. Of course, we have an assortment of national hotel chains along 36th Street and unfortunately some low rent seedy motels that has been a source of crime and a money suck of our police resources. However, there’s one business that has resided along NW 36th Street that is truly a hidden gem within our community: Studio BKS.
Studio BKS is a Hollywood Quality Studio that provides dubbing and video services to companies worldwide including major studio houses like Netflix and Amazon. They do a ton of work dubbing Spanish language movies and telenovelas to English. They also add Spanish dubbing to English films. But it’s not just Spanish language translations. They add English dubbing to films from Europe like Poland and Germany to Asian films coming from South Korea and China.
Studio BKS has about a half dozen professionally engineered, sound proof, audio studios for recording songs, podcasts, dubbing, etc. Plus they have professional sound engineers that man the audio recording with state of the art recording and mixing equipment and software. Oh, and that’s just on a single floor of the three story studio.
Studio BKS has a complete film studio setup for interviews, commercials, and so much more. And we’re not talking about a couple of chairs and a backdrop. We’re talking about all the overhead rigging, lighting and state of the art cameras for high end productions. They also have a massive green screen setup that can quickly transport your scene anywhere in the world using the latest advancements in digital Hollywood magic. And we’re only getting started. Studio BKS features a full working studio kitchen to film the next celebrity chef or cooking with a Miami Mami. If you can dream it, they can film it.
On the bottom floor, they have a massive black room. Perfect for photography, glamour shots, and even filming. This large area is also used to host a variety of events and is available for rent for filming or even catering events.
And finally, we have their glorious rooftop. Okay, the rooftop isn’t a normal part of their filming although you can use it if you wanted to, but it has an amazing view of Miami Springs and our glorious Miami Springs Golf and Country Club.
It’s truly a full on, high end, professional Hollywood caliber studio that you’d think Miami would have on Miami Beach or maybe Wynwood, but nope. It’s in Miami Springs. And frankly, that’s better. The studio does host special VIPs from time to time to handle audio and video recording. As you can imagine, having a celebrity fly in from South America, the Caribbean, or New York, can easily hop off a jet and make it to the studio in mere minutes. Plus, Studio BKS has an underground gated parking garage that provides VIPs a secure and private entrance to the studio that’s away from the prying eyes of the paparazzi.
As part of Studio BKS’ studio services to the celebrity elite, they also have an in-house spa and massage area. Celebrities do get performance anxiety sometimes and the in-house spa allows the celebrities to relax and unwind before and after a performance.
NEW SCHOOL: GAIA POP ACADEMY
Want to learn about film, video editing, audio dubbing? Studio BKS has launched a new school called “GAIA POP ACADEMY”. The school will be offering a voice summer camp very soon. GAIA POP is also the content creation and content aggregation portion of the business. This is going to be a great opportunity for local Miami Springs kids that want to get into the world of content creation with professional state of the art industry equipment and software. Voice Summer Camp
Parents, here’s a summer camp kids ages 8 – 16 will love. As we mentioned earlier, Studio BKS is constantly dubbing films and television shows for a variety of networks and Hollywood studios. Your children can learn about the film industry by joining the “Voice Summer Camp.” It’s broken into 3 levels and 3 different time ranges:

Why in Miami?
We spoke with Daniella Piquet, the founder of Studio BKS, about her decision to move to Miami. She explained that she had a studio in Brazil, but the economy was tanking in Brazil 10 years ago. She said that Hollywood is dominated by unions making it incredibly expensive for companies seeking dubbing, editing, and video services. She also noted that many of the existing studios in Miami were not operated to the professional standards to which she was accustomed. So Daniella put her blood, sweat, and tears into creating Studio BKS. It took her three years to find the right location. And even more effort to build the studio into the professional layout it features today.
Daniella is a great example of an American success story and proof that dreams do come true…so long as you’re willing to work your tail off to make it happen.
