The Miami Springs Baptist Church posted the following message regarding the closure of their pre-school:
Unfortunately, it is necessary that Miami Springs Baptist Church close the preschool. It was operating at a deficit and being heavily subsidized by the church. The church is not financially able to continue funding the preschool.
This decision has been made after prayer consideration and examining every possible alternative. There have been rumors that the church is selling the building to build apartments, etc. This is totally false. We are not selling the property and this will remain a church.
We fully understand the historical significance of the preschool and the fact that many people who live in Miami Springs attended this school as children. We have a truly amazing staff who deeply loved and served the children and their families. We fully understand this love for the staff and school.
Understanding the significance, we regret having to make this decision. Please understand no one is more disappointed about having to make this decision that we are!
We are very grateful to the people of Miami Springs who have supported our preschool through the years, and are especially thankful to those of you who have entrusted us with the most precious thing you’ve been given – your children! We are truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. We trust that the love and service that were given will continue to provide a Christian foundation for a life of integrity and success, and you will be left with cherished memories for your entire life. Thank you for this opportunity!
