Miami Springs proves once again that it’s the best neighborhood for traditional door to door, family friendly trick or treating in South Florida.

Let’s set the scene.  Halloween fell on a Friday.  That means lots of folks enjoying the start of the weekend.

Next, the night was beautiful.  Thanks to a recent cold front, the weather had cleared out for a cloud free night. There was no humidity and the temps Friday night were in the lower 70s.  In other words, perfect weather to wear a costume and walk around without sweating after half a block.

With two kids in college and a teenager who joined his friends, my wife and I enjoyed sitting back in our driveway and greeting neighbors, friends, and hundreds of trick or treaters.  We thought the trick or treaters would start around 7pm as that’s when it gets dark, but at 6:30pm we got our first knock on the door.  For the next three hours we continued to serve wave after wave of trick or treaters.

The trick or treaters were great.  From the babies in strollers being pushed by their young parents to the toddlers and the teens, everybody was having fun with lots of smiles to go around.  Heck, even the dogs got into the Halloween Spirit.  Look no further than this hot dog…uh, I mean Taco Dog.

I want to thank the hundreds of trick or treaters who came by our home in the bird section this year.  Everyone was great.

And we also want to thank all the residents who do their part in welcoming not only our local Miami Springs trick or treaters, but the hundreds (if not thousands) of trick or treaters who enter our community one night of the year to enjoy the peace, friendliness, and welcoming nature that the Miami Springs Community has to offer.  God bless you all for being so kind-hearted and welcoming.

And we also want to thank the Miami Springs Police Department for being vigilant and patrolling all the streets to ensure everyone had a safe and wonderful Halloween.  (Note:  the guy in the picture above is NOT a Miami Springs Police Officer.  Or so we think.  I guess we’ll never know.)

Bottom Line:  Miami Springs is truly wonderful place.  Thank you all.
