Today isn’t just another Sunday in the Springs.

Today, we celebrate a century of history, community, and hometown pride.

On August 23, 1926, 75 residents gathered to incorporate a new community called Country Club Estates.

They couldn’t have known what they were beginning.

Inspired by aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss and accomplished developer James Bright, Miami Springs was envisioned as something more than a subdivision carved from the South Florida wilderness. It would have beautiful homes, winding streets, a golf course, a town center, distinctive architecture—and most importantly, a real community.

One hundred years later, that vision lives on.

Founded by an aviation pioneer, Miami Springs grew alongside Miami’s aviation industry. Generations of pilots, mechanics, flight attendants, airline employees, and their families made their homes here.

Aviation didn’t just shape our history.

It became part of our DNA.

And through a century of change, Miami Springs has held onto something special.

The Circle is still here.

Those winding streets (and alleys that we cherish) still make this home.

And that unmistakable feeling of crossing into a true hometown, surrounded by, but distinct from, the enormous metropolis around us, is still here too.

That is worth celebrating!

Because a city is more than its streets, buildings, parks, or boundaries.

A city is its people.

It’s generations of families raising children here. Neighbors looking after neighbors. Small businesses becoming institutions. Coaches, teachers, police officers, firefighters, public servants, volunteers, and countless residents choosing, year after year, to invest in, protect, and call this place home.

Today, we celebrate all of them.

We celebrate the people who built Miami Springs.

Those who preserved it.

Everyone lucky enough to call it home today.

And the generations who will carry it forward.

From Country Club Estates in 1926 to the incredible community we call Miami Springs in 2026, what a first century it has been.
