It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edwin Winsor Reed III “Skip” on December 18, 2022 at the age of 79. Skip passed away in the home where he spent his childhood on Belle Meade Island.
Skip was a kind and generous man, with a warm heart and a ready smile to his three children and three grandchildren. As well as a loving companion to his dogs. He was also an expert GC in construction and dedicated many years of his career to serving as Building Official for the cities of Miami Springs, Bay Harbour, and Surfside. Skip was proud of his service in the Air Force and other passions including boat racing, sandbar with the ridge backs, scuba diving, fishing and just being on the water.
Skip was known for his indomitable spirit and his fierce determination. No illness or tiredness could slow him down, and he lived life on his own terms until his final days.
He is survived by his son Eddie, who will carry on his legacy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones. May Skip rest in peace.
