As you drive, walk, or cycle past or through Curtiss Parkway, you’re going to notice it looks more patriotic. That’s thanks to the hard work from the volunteers at the River Cities Rotary Club.

The Rotary Club took the initiative to acquire these beautiful American flags and place them up and down Curtiss Parkway.

The beautiful American flags are part of the community’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

It’s also part of the city’s 100 year centennial celebration.

Bottom line: These aren’t your tax dollars at work. These are local volunteers raising funds, volunteering their time and their labor for the betterment of our beautiful community.

We are grateful to these volunteers and the entire River Cities Rotary for putting this beautiful flag display that the entire community gets to enjoy.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. The best part of Miami Springs is not the location. It’s not the central location. It’s not the quiet oasis. The best part of Miami Springs is the wonderful people who make up this beautiful community.

God bless you all and thank you for making Miami Springs more beautiful as we celebrate America 250 and Miami Springs 100.

Special thanks to Miami Springs Councilman Jorge Santin (pictured below right) for sharing these pictures with us.
