A shooting incident occurred at a hotel located on the 3900 block of South River Drive on Monday, January 23, 2023 at approximately 9:40 am. Miami Springs Police officers were dispatched to the scene and an investigation was launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to the investigation, the victim had arrived at the hotel to pick up his girlfriend, who was staying in a room with a female friend and two male subjects, identified as Baldwin Baker (Defendant) and a juvenile subject (co-defendant). A verbal altercation ensued between the victim and the co-defendant regarding his girlfriend. As they were leaving the hotel, Baker allegedly stopped the vehicle, at which point the juvenile subject allegedly fired approximately 4-6 shots from the passenger side of the vehicle towards the victim.
