Residents trying to go to sleep in Miami Springs Sunday night were kept up by the thumping bass from an outdoor music concert.  Based on past experiences, many residents thought it was coming from Factory Town, but that wasn’t the case.  At least not last night.

There’s a new venue holding these outdoor electronic music events featuring the powerful deep base that draws the big crowds.  Let’s be clear.  It’s actual a very old venue.  We’re talking about the oldest entertainment venue in Hialeah.  If you haven’t figured it out, we’re talking about Hialeah Park.

Yup.  The legendary Hialeah Park was host to Maccabi Hose at The Garden (@HialeahPark) this past Sunday, October 18th from 3pm to 11pm.

What’s crazy is how far the sound carried.  Hialeah Park is approximately 3 miles from Miami Springs.  Yet, it was unmistakable.  The pounding bass could be heard in Miami Springs.  Residents reported hearing it throughout the bird section.

I can attest.  Even with impact windows, I could feel the rhythmic bass from inside my own bedroom.

Miami Springs residents chimed in on social media:

Mike DelaCruz:  I’m hearing it all the way west in the 1100 block of nightingale so I’m sure everyone in springs hears it.

Sasha Perez: Does anyone know where it’s coming from

Susan D. Guardiola: When we called the police, they told us it was not Factory Town. It was an event at the Hialeah Park Casino.

Gabriel Gonzalez: Omg yes that was so loud last night

The good news was the concert was not an all nighter.  It ended at 11pm allowing residents to go to sleep.

Factory Town does have concerts lined up for Halloween weekend.  In fact, I’m sure many of you have Halloween parties happening right here in Miami Springs that weekend.  Halloween falls on a Saturday.  It’s not uncommon to hear residents having a late night party on a Friday or Saturday night.

However, Factory Town is hosting a party on Sunday, November 1st.  Hopefully, the changes Factory Town has made through the years won’t impact residents.

If you do hear the thumping bass late at night, you are encouraged to contact the Miami Springs Police Department at 305.888.9711 to allow them to record the incident.  This is an important record keeping should the city decide to take legal action against any establishment and/or organization disturbing the peace in our community.
