Miami Springs and Virginia Gardens are officially under a Tropical Storm Warning.
At 5am this morning, the National Hurricane Center issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Miami-Dade County. Tropical Storm Helene is forecasted to turn into a hurricane in the next 24 hours. And while it is expected to stay west of us, the tropical storm winds may still impact South Florida.
To be clear, a Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within the next 36 hours. That means there’s a possibility of Tropical Storm winds, downed tree limbs, and of course, power outages.
Based on the guidance from the National Hurricane Center, it appears the worst of the weather will impact our area on Thursday.
Stay tuned for more information as Helene approaches Florida.
