The City of Miami Springs held a special swearing in ceremony on Monday, June 22, 2026 at City Hall, to promote Albert Sandoval to the new Chief of Police for the Miami Springs Police Department.
Sandoval is a lifelong resident of Miami Springs. He graduated from Miami Springs Senior High in 1999 (Go Hawks). He began his law enforcement career in law enforcement as a Public Service Aid in 2001. He graduated from the police academy in 2002 marking the start of his career with the Miami Springs Police Department. His roles have included:
- K-9 Officer
- Officer in charge
- Honor Guard
- Firearms and Taser Instructor
- Sergeant
- Administrative Sergeant
- Lieutenant
- Deputy Chief of Police
Sandoval also holds a four year degree in Criminal Justice from Florida International University.
