Miami Springs has truly changed over the decades. Today, Miami Springs has become a true golf cart friendly community. Decades ago it was a rarity to see a golf cart on city streets. Today, it’s become a daily occurence.
Miami Springs residents have embraced the golf cart lifestyle. From trips to Milam’s Markets for some quick groceries to a trip to a local restaurant, golf carts have come a long way from, well, just driving on our world class golf course.
Expanding on the use of golf carts have included several events including the popular holiday golf cart parade. This past weekend, Miami-Dade Shades added a new event and organized and sponsored the first ever Miami Springs Virginia Gardens Golf Cart Scavenger Hunt. It was a fun event that started at the Miami Springs Recreation Center.  Several families joined in (including lots of small kids). Then, the scavenging was on as families scoured the neighborhood and win the hunt. Afterwards, everybody met at Woody’s where the prize winners were announced. (Scroll down for the video.)
We want to say thank you to the fine folks at Miami-Dade Shades for putting this event together. It takes a lot of effort to plan, coordinate, and host these events. Our community has been blessed with great civic organizations, companies, and individuals who go out of their way to create these great family friendly events.
Well done!
