The Miami Springs Police Department announced the arrest of Randy Gregory Gotrace. According to Miami-Dade Corrections, Gotrace was charged with the following:
- Masked Burglary of an Occupied Structure
- Possession of Burglary Tools
- Loitering or Prowling
- Wearing a mask on the street
- Threatening Death or Bodily Harm on Law Enforcement
- Battery on a Police Officer / Firefighter / Corrections
- Assault by a prisoner in correctional institution
According to the Miami Springs Police Department, Randy Gregory Gotrace unlawfully entered a local restaurant after hours. Then, when the Miami Springs Police Officers arrived, they allege that Gotrace threatened the responding police officers. Gotrace also allegedly “battered corrections officers while in custody.”
Gotrace was booked earlier today, December 3rd 2025. He had just been arrested last month on November 13th for prowling in a residential area at 4am. So this marks the second time Randy Gotrace was arrested by Miami Springs Police in less than 30 days.
It’s disturbing that this individual allegedly returned to the same community where he had previously been arrested. Is it due to our proximity to the Turner Guilford Knight Correction facility? Or is it due to some other interest Gotrace may have in our community like a girlfriend, family, friend, etc.?
Bottom line, if you see suspicious behavior “Like a man wearing a mask, riding a bike, at 4am,” please don’t hesitate and call Miami Springs Police at 305.888.9711.
