Miami-Dade Police Homicide Bureau is seeking the public’s help in the murder of of 46-year-old Julio Gonzalez. According to Miami-Dade Police, Gonzalez was killed at the Aladdin Hotel located at 901 South Royal Poinciana Boulevard in Miami Springs on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at approximately 9:30 am.
Unfortunately, this is yet another incident where serious crime is coming from the hotels at the edges of our city, tarnishing the image of our beautiful community, and taking up valuable resources from our Police Department. And as many of you know, the City of Miami Springs receives zero dollars in bed taxes.
Of course, there’s no secret, the Aladdin Hotel promotes itself as a sex motel. That naturally attracts pimps, prostitution, drugs, and other criminal activities.

Any homicide in Miami Springs is transferred to the Miami-Dade County Police Department’s Homicide Bureau. Anyone with information regarding the homicide is urged to contact Miami-Dade Police Homicide Detective I. Watson II at 305.471.2400. If the tip leads to the arrest of the subject(s) responsible for the crime, the tipster may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
