Thursday, August 13th is the first day of school. Please give a little extra time in the morning and in the afternoon as there will be a noticeable increase in traffic.
SLOW DOWN!
Remember to slow down at all the school zones. Miami Springs Police will be out in full force to ensure the school zone speed limits are being followed. Oh, and even if the cops aren’t there, the speed trap cameras are. So watch your speed. The speed cameras have not been active all summer. They are only active on school days. Speed on a school day and expect to get a ticket. We’ve warned you!
Watch our for the kids walking, biking, skate boarding to school. Even if you’re not in a school zone, Miami Springs is a pedestrian friendly city. We have kids that bike and/or walk to school in the morning and then bike or walk home in the afternoon. Always yield to pedestrians when operating a motor vehicle.
