You may have noticed that the Cavalier Clock has moved from Curtiss Parkway (its original installation) to Westward Drive. But why?

Well, it’s to make room for the upcoming Glenn Curtiss Monument and June Bug Legacy Memorial. As you know, the City of Miami Springs will be celebrating its 100 year anniversary this year. And what better way than to add a monument for the founder and aviation pioneer, Glenn Curtiss.
The clock looked great on Curtiss Parkway and looks equally as good along Westward Drive.

The Cavalier Clock was installed in memory of beloved former Miami Springs Mayor, John A. Cavalier, Jr., who served the city from 1979 – 1987 and again from 1993 – 2001.

The clock was donated to the community by the Lowell S. and Betty L. Dunn Family Foundation, Inc.

We believe the clock adds to the appeal of Westward Drive and the Circle overall.

Now, there’s one more thing to do. The clock needs to be set back one hour this weekend. The time changes this weekend to daylight savings time. This weekend we’ll “spring forward.”

What do you think of the move of the Cavalier Clock to Westward Drive?
