According to an article published in the Miami Herald by Bill Daley, Miami Springs City Manager Ron Gorland will be retiring this summer. According to the article, the 72 year old Gorland was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.

The good news is that the prostate cancer was caught early. Nevertheless, we ask the community to keep Ron in our prayers as he fights to beat cancer.

According to the article, Gorland is recommending the current Assistant City Manager, William Alonso, to take over his role upon retirement.
