The Miami Springs Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, April 6th at the Miami Springs Country Club. Unlike 2 years ago where the entire Council ran unopposed, we will see an election this year. Here are the candidates that have already qualified according to the City of Miami Springs City Clerk.
MIAMI SPRINGS MAYOR
Maria Mitchell has qualified and is running for mayor. So far, no other candidate has officially qualified to give residents another choice for mayor.
Bob Best is expect to run for re-election, but has not yet officially qualified for this seat. In fact, no one has qualified yet to run for Seat I.
Local real estate broker, Jacky Bravo, is running for Seat II.
Vivian Isla-Rey also qualified to run for the Group II seat being vacated by Maria Mitchell.
Walter Fajet is running to retain the seat he won in a special election last fall. So far, he is running unopposed.
Vincent Medel, known locally as the president of the Miami Springs Republican Club, has qualified to run for the Group IV Seat. Vincent will be facing off against Victor Vazquez (another V).

The final day to qualify for office is Friday, February 19th.
