It’s official. The City of Miami Springs has a new Police Chief. At Monday’s Miami Springs City Council Meeting, Captain Jimmy Deal was officially sworn in and promoted to Miami Springs Police Chief.
As outgoing Chief Armando Guzman described, Jimmy Deal is a product of Miami Springs. He attended Springview Elementary, Miami Springs Junior High, and Miami Springs Senior High. Deal was hired by the Miami Springs Police Department back in 1990 as a Police Dispatcher. In 1993 Deal went to the Police Academy and graduated to become a Police Officer. From 1993-1997 Deal worked for the Miami Springs Police Department and worked Patrol. In 1997, he went to K-9 School and became a K-9 handler. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2004. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2015. Then Captain in 2019. On Monday, February 26, 2024, Jimmy Deal was sworn in as the new Chief of the Miami Springs Police Department.
