On December 30, 2024, at approximately 2:30 AM, the Miami Springs Police Department responded to a report of three suspicious males wearing dark clothing and with their faces covered, walking in the vicinity of Apache Street and Falcon Avenue. Officers conducted a thorough canvass of the area and subsequently located three juvenile males along the alleyway of Miami Springs Avenue, between Falcon Avenue and Swan Avenue, who matched the description provided by the caller.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the juveniles were responsible for a series of vehicle burglaries throughout the city. During the investigation, officers recovered stolen property, including numerous credit cards and identification cards.

On the following day, MSPD officers discovered a stolen vehicle abandoned near the 100 block of Hough Drive. This vehicle had been reported stolen from Miami Beach the day prior and was determined to be the means of transportation used by the juveniles during their crime spree.

Further questioning by MSPD detectives led to full confessions from the juveniles, resulting in the closure of 18 cases involving multiple vehicle burglaries. Additionally, collaboration with the Miami Beach Police Department allowed for the closure of several auto theft and vehicle burglary cases within their jurisdiction.

A stolen firearm, taken from a resident’s vehicle in Miami Springs, was also recovered and successfully returned to its rightful owner.
