UPDATE: 7:20PM FRIDAY – 12-21-18

The City of Miami Springs Emergency Police Line (305.888.9711) is back up and running properly.  If you have a local emergency, you can call 305.888.9711.  911 always works, but MSPD dispatch is better at dispatching local police to your area.  911 operators don’t have the same feel for our local area and still have to relay the information to the Miami Springs Police.  By calling the Miami Springs Police directly during an emergency, you can save precious time.

AROUND 4:30PM, THE CITY HAD REPORTED THE MAIN POLICE EMERGENCY LINE HAD BEEN HACKED.

According to the City of Miami Springs, the Miami Springs Police Dispatch Line (305.888.9711) is not working.  Apparently, it is “experiencing a phone hacking issue and callers may not be able to get through to dispatch.”

As a result, if you have an emergency, please call 911.

According to the City of Miami Springs, “This is a recent phenomenon happening throughout 8 states nationwide, and specifically affecting neighboring cities and counties, including:”

  • City of Miami Springs Police
  • City of Miami Police
  • Miami-Dade County Police

We’ll keep you informed once the issue has been resolved.  Again, in the event you have an emergency in Miami Springs, typically it’s faster just to call the Miami Springs Police at 305.888.9711.  However, due to the current hacking situation, you are urged to bypass the local number and just call 911 if you have an emergency.

MSPD phone lines are being shut down until Saturday morning.

NON EMERGENCY
If you need NON-EMERGENCY police assistance please call Miami Dade Police at 305-476-5423 (non emergency).

Please share with Miami Springs neighbors to keep the community aware of the situation.

Thank you and Merry Christmas.
