Labor Day is a time for celebration and relaxation for many, but for the Miami Springs Police Department, it’s another day of dedicated service. While others are enjoying a well-deserved break, our officers continue their tireless efforts to keep the community safe.
Today, those efforts led to a significant arrest. Lucas Gabriel Mercado was apprehended at a local hotel and charged with trafficking cocaine and liquid GHB, a substance notoriously known as the “date rape” drug. In addition, Mercado was found with a fake ID, further illustrating the seriousness of his offenses.
This arrest highlights the Miami Springs Police Department’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of our community. Our officers are always on duty, working hard to ensure that Miami Springs remains a safe place for everyone, every day, without exception—even on holidays.
As you enjoy your Labor Day festivities, rest assured that the Miami Springs Police Department is here, vigilant and ready to serve. Your safety is their top priority, and they are proud to protect our community every day. Stay safe and enjoy the holiday!
