Finally!
The City of Miami Springs announced that the Miami Springs Golf Course is now officially open after undergoing a $3.8 million renovation.
In December, we had the pleasure of touring the progress at the beautiful Miami Springs Golf Course with our new City Manager, JC Jimenez, and the superintendent of the golf course, Laurie Bland. They showed us how the golf course still needed a little more time for some patches of the newly seeded golf course to finally fill in. Watch the video below:
One of the interesting things we learned is that the new design will also include a new playing area for a short game. The short game will include 6 holes that are walking only. The 6 holes range in 30 to 80 yards. So it’s a separate play area. So if you don’t want to pay for a full 18 hole game, you can pay for the more affordable and less time consuming short game.
There will also be a big new putting green area to allow folks to practice. The putting area will be completely free and complimentary to use.
We are not golfers, but we treasure having a world class golf course right here in beautiful Miami Springs. We are excited to see the course reopen. And we’re also excited about the new short game and what that can mean for increased usage and revenues at the Golf Course.

The Miami Springs Golf Course is now the closest golf course to the airport. That designation used to fall to the Melreese Golf Course. In July of 2018, we reported on the proposal for the Miami Freedom Park. That project is redeveloping the nearby Melreese Golf Course into the Miami Freedom Park and soccer stadium for the InterMiami Football Club (aka soccer team).
DON’T TELL ANYBODY!
The Golf Course is open, but don’t tell anybody. Let’s keep it a secret. I mean, we have thousands of drivers and travelers that commute along NW 36th Street daily. Let’s not tell them we have a beautiful golf course just a block away. Let’s keep it a secret. I mean, that’s what we’ve always done, right?
There isn’t a single sign along NW 36th Street that says we have a golf course. Wouldn’t the golf course attract more customers relatively easily by adding signage on NW 36th Street?
Anyhow, we’re thrilled to see that the golf course is open after the community invested nearly $4 Million. Now, it’s important to make the business side of the golf course successful.
