Lou was affectionately known as Luigi, Louie, Scrappy, Dad, Pop Pop, Mr. Cimino, and Coach Cimino by those who knew and loved him. He lived his life with kindness, unwavering faith, extraordinary patience, and a fierce commitment to his family, friends, and community. He lived in Miami Springs most of his life where he worked for Florida Power and Light until he retired in 2005, and moved to Eustis, Florida. He was a loving husband, life-long coach, avid conversationalist, lover of nature, and proudly served his country. When not on a sports field, he could be found cooking, fishing, gardening, or taking the scenic route. Lou fought the good fight; he finished the race.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Sr. and Kathleen Cimino, and his sister Mary Sue Cimino.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Maria Maury Cimino, his children Lisa (Julio), Louie (Edith), Lori (Julie), Lance, and Gina (Mike), and grandchildren Lauren, Gabi, Chase, Ryan, Jessie, Liam, Brooke, and Carson.

The family welcomes all to celebrate his life at the Miami Springs Senior Center on January 16. Drop-in visits with the family: 11:30am – 1pm, Celebration of Life: 1 – 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda.org/donate.
