According to Miami-Dade County Public Schools, they have been investigating threatening messages involving several Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The School District says that all the threats appear non-credible, but naturally, they must investigate all threats. Of course, hoax threats themselves are a crime and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Below is an example of one of the threats shared on the Miami Springs Community Facebook Group by a parent:
We’ve also heard rumblings that this may be an old threat that just began recycling again.
We called the school this morning and they are operating as normal. They informed us the Police are handling the threats. There is no lockdown at this time.
UPDATE:
Miami-Dade County Public Schools issued a statement this morning announcing the arrest of a 15 year old student that is being charged with written threats to kill or do bodily harm. According to MDCPS, the student is alleged to have posted a threat involving Miami Hight that was then altered by other individuals and reposted on social media, affecting several other schools, including MSSH.
