After serving our community for over 40 years, Ray’s Tae Kwon Do Center announced the closing of its Miami Springs business.  We are saddened to hear this news as Ray’s Tae Kwon Do provided thousands of students with the discipline of martial arts in a warm and friendly environment.

Ray’s Tae Kwon Do has been located on the Circle for decades.  It’s a landmark in Miami Springs.

You may recall that the building located at 1 South Royal Poinciana Boulevard was sold on January 14, 2022, over three years ago, for $2.8 Million.  The new owners then invested in the property with a major facelift.

Of course, after investing so much money, the new landlords want to see a return on that investment.  Unfortunately, that may result in the loss of some of our cherished long-term small businesses.

We hate to see Ray’s Tae Kwon Do Center closing down after being such an integral part of our community.  Of course, these decisions are never easy for any business owner and we know that Master Ray looked at all his options before deciding to shut down.  Ray Rodriguez and Ray’s Tae Kwon Do Center has served our community proudly for over 40 years and we are blessed to have had his business within our community for such a long time.

We want to thank Master Ray Rodriguez for his years of dedication and success in creating such an outstanding institution focused on servicing the youth of Miami Springs.  We wish Ray nothing but the best.  I know that I speak for so many when I say that Ray’s Tae Kwon Do Center will be missed.

In an online post on social media, Master Ray Rodriguez posted the following heartfelt message to the community:

A Heartfelt Thank You and Farewell

Dear Taekwondo Students and Families,

It is with mixed emotions that we share this difficult news with you. After 40 years of serving our wonderful community, we have made the tough decision to close the doors of our Taekwondo school due to ongoing financial hardships. This decision was not made lightly, and it comes after much reflection and careful consideration.

Over the years, we have had the honor of watching our students grow, both in their martial arts abilities and as individuals. We are incredibly proud of the achievements and progress made by all of you—whether you’ve earned your black belt or are just starting your journey. It has been a privilege to be part of your lives, and we are deeply grateful for your trust, support, and commitment to our Taekwondo family.

While this chapter is ending, the memories, lessons, and friendships we’ve all shared will stay with us forever. We want to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to each of you. The smiles, hard work, dedication, and sense of community have meant the world to us. We will cherish these moments and carry them with us into the future.

We are working diligently to ensure a smooth transition and will provide information on any remaining classes, events, and other important details in the coming weeks.

Thank you again for allowing us to be a part of your Taekwondo journey. Though our physical doors may close, the spirit of Taekwondo and the bond we’ve shared will continue to live on in each of you.

With deepest gratitude and respect,
Master Ray Rodriguez and Staff
