However, local residents have recently witnessed and documented an alarming trend: large commercial semi-trucks—including massive multi-car haulers—squeezing through quiet, residential neighborhood blocks.
A prime example of this occurred this week, when a massive commercial car-carrier truck loaded with Waymo self-driving vehicles was photographed navigating the residential streets of Miami Springs.
These massive vehicles cutting through our quiet residential avenues spark serious concerns regarding safety, noise, and immediate infrastructure damage. Miami Springs residential streets, low-hanging tree canopies, and aging underground utilities are not engineered or designed to handle the size, weight, and turning clearance requirements of heavy commercial traffic.
Miami Springs has strictly established and clearly marked **No-Thru Truck** zones specifically to prevent this type of commercial cut-through traffic. Commercial vehicles are required to stick to designated commercial and industrial corridors, such as NW 36th Street, and are strictly prohibited from utilizing neighborhood streets as shortcuts.
🛑 What Residents Should Do If They See a Commercial Truck on Residential Streets
If you see a commercial semi-truck or heavy tractor-trailer driving through a residential neighborhood in Miami Springs, here is how you can help local law enforcement enforce our municipal codes:
- Do Not Confront the Driver: Please do not attempt to block, stop, or confront the commercial truck driver yourself.
