The YouTube Channel “Southern Life” shares a driving tour of Miami Springs. It’s an interesting video as we get to hear the perception some people have of Miami Springs from a non-resident’s perspective.
Overall, Southern Life was very positive about Miami Springs. In fact, they referred to our community as “laid back” and “chill.” He even went on to say that, “if I had money in Miami, this is where I’d want to be.”
We had a disagreement with their perception on our Police Department profiling anyone who doesn’t belong in Miami Springs. Obviously, we don’t agree with the comment that our Police Department is “…a little heavy handed on the police profiling.” However, we did agree with their commentary that Miami Springs is “very well patrolled.”
Overall, they had a very positive view of the beautiful gem we call home.
However, the video is not without controversy. As one reader pointed out, late in the video there’s a reference of the male threatening the female with a black eye. We don’t know if this was a playful gest or a serious remark. Regardless, we don’t condone violence or threats of violence.
