Stranger Danger! Hotel lobby video captures a man walking into a Miami Springs hotel lobby. Then, in plain view of a crowded lobby, the man follows behind a 4 year old child and then proceeds to pick her up. According to Miami Springs Police Chief, Matthew Castillo, the suspect appears to kiss the victim on the neck.
Then, the suspect puts the girl down, gives her a high five, and walks away. As he walks away, the suspect appears to look back at the lobby crowd to see if anyone is reacting to his interaction with the young child. As no one appears to react to his behavior, the suspect then reengages with the child. According to Miami Springs Police Chief Castillo, the suspect now “grabs her and attempts to put her on his lap.”
Fortunately, a relative notices what’s happening. The relative grabs the young girl and pulls her back from the suspect.
According to Miami Springs Police, the relatives contacted the police immediately. Within minutes, Miami Springs Police officers were on the scene and began their investigation.
MSPD placed John Bekavac under arrest.
Folks, this video is a great reminder never to leave your little ones unattended…even when they’re just a few feet away from you in a crowded lobby. You never know when there’s a child predator lurking nearby.
