We’d like to thank the Rivera family, Hole 19, the Miami Springs Rec Center, and the Miami Springs Community for their generosity to help those impacted by Hurricane Ian. Albert Rivera and his family helped to organize a Hurricane Relief Drive in Miami Springs. You see, their son, Michael Rivera, is currently enrolled at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. The school had to temporarily close down due to the storm.
Well, thanks to the generosity of our marvelous Miami Springs Community, the Rivera family was able to collect over 600 pounds of food items and donations in just three days! The Rivera family drove back to Florida Gulf Coast University and successfully delivered the donated items to the Florida Gulf Coast University Campus Food Pantry.
As Albert Rivera shared online, “They (FGCU) were really appreciative of all the donations as the shelves were running low of items and daily necessities.” Riveral also thanked “Nestor Suarez of MiamiSprings.com, Yannick and Mark at Hole 19 Scratch Kitchen and Bar, Omar Luna at the Miami Springs Rec Center.”
We really need to thank Albert, his family, and the generosity of our great community for helping out the Fort Myers community during this time of need.
