The Miami Springs community is coming together for a beautiful cause this weekend. In solemn and heartfelt observance of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Miami Springs Police Department is hosting its annual Together We Ride Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Community Bike Ride on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The ride, scheduled to kick off at 8:00 AM, will promote immense civic unity and pride as neighbors, families, and local public safety officers hit the pavement together. This annual tribute serves as a vital beacon of support, raising critical awareness for pediatric cancer research while showing our local families fighting this disease that they are never alone.
Participants are encouraged to pull out their bikes, strap on their helmets, and wear yellow or gold—the official color of childhood cancer awareness—to show solidarity.
🚲 The 3-Mile Neighborly Route
The community ride is designed to be highly accessible and enjoyable for cyclists of all ages and fitness levels. Spanning a flat, 3-mile loop, the route offers a beautiful tour of our historic Miami Springs residential avenues:
- Start: Miami Springs Community Center / Recreation Center (1401 Westward Drive)
- Proceeds through Apache Street & Oriole Avenue
- Winds onto Hammond Drive and Bluebird Avenue
- Cruises down Lenape Drive and back onto Westward Drive
- Finish: Head East along Westward Drive to cross the finish line at the Miami Springs Police Department (201 Westward Drive)
Following the completion of the ride, participants can look forward to a welcoming social hour at the Police Station, where the department will provide light refreshments to celebrate and connect with neighbors.
