The Miami Springs Senior High Golden Hawks took on the St. Brendan Football team Monday night at St. Brendan High School. The game had been rescheduled due to the Tropical Storm Warning and school closings last week from Hurricane Ian.

The Golden Hawks scored first after a receiver broke through multiple tackles and scored a 72 yard touchdown reception. The Hawks led 7-0.
Then St. Brendan scored on a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. That tied the game at 7 all.
The Hawks returned then scored on a 51 yard run by #5 who took it to the house for another touchdown for Miami Springs.
Halftime score: Miami Springs 14 – St. Brendan 7
In the second half, St. Brendan scored on a 36 yard touchdown run that tied the game at 14 apiece.
Then, in the ensuing kickoff, the Miami Springs Senior High return man fumbled the ball at the Golden Hawk 20 yard line, but the Hawks recovered the ball. However, when the offense took the field, the running back fumbled the handoff from the quarterback giving St. Brendan excellent field position.
St. Brendan then scored a 10 yard touchdown run to take the lead and win the game: 21 – 14.
No rest for the Hawks this week. They go back at it this Friday night at Tropical Park as they face the 3-1 Cobras of South Miami.
